Review A Nassau, Bahamas Vacation |

|
We have made the trip to the
Bahamas so many times that we bought a condo on Cable Beach and we use
it often. So this one place that we should be able to guide you
blind folded. There is a lot to see from the Atlantis Resort
Casino to the Walking Zoo.
I remember that when I was
tired of walking I took a bus - they call jitneys - a great way to see
most of the shore in an inexpensive way. The driver was very friendly
and he gave us a real tour about the island, not that we needed it, but
we wanted to see what he wanted to show us about the island.. Dixie, loves the walking zoo and most people don't get to experience it as it is between the airport and downtown and if your there on a cruise, you normally don't have the time. They have a trained Flamingo act and it is neat to see. There are little open air food places on the way from downtown to the zoo and you can walk from them back to downtown. They will make your food in front of you and it is all natural. There are also a number of Banks as that is probably a bigger industry than tourism. As you walk down main street be careful crossing the street as they drive on the left side of the road there. You will also find jewelry stores and watch stores and much more. There are a lot of restaurants in the downtown area and close to the cruise ship docks. They also have the typical such as the glass bottom boats and you should take a trip on one as they take you out to see wrecks that are visible in the crystal clear waters. You will also see Eagle Rays and many many varieties of fish. Easy to get to and a lot of fun when you get there, Nassau is and will be a great destination spot to have fun or just relax. If you haven't been, then now is the time to go. Cruise ships offer the best deals in January and February as sometimes you can go for 3 days for around $200. We enjoy taking friends down as we keep a car there so that we can easily get around the island. Now it's your turn to visit. |
