Dixie was born in Nashville and
so were two of our children. Me I was born in Memphis. We
lived in Nashville for over 10 years until moving to Florida full time
in 1996, we've had a residence in Florida since 1982. There are so many things to see and Nashville is not all country music. Of course there is the Country Music Hall of Fame, Music Row, with all the recording companies, publishing companies, Ryman Auditorium, BMI, ASCAP, and others, but the Parthenon. Home to Vanderbilt University, Belmont College, and several others schools of higher learning, but Nashville offers a view at the old South with the Belle Meade Mansion. The Opryland Hotel is one of the most beautiful places with its inside river and botanical gardens and at Christmas, the lights are awesome. Take a trip on the Cumberland River on the General Jackson Showboat or visit 2nd Avenue and the Wild House Saloon. The nightlight is everywhere and the downtown area lights up at night with the many small bars with aspiring country music singers. Remember the Grassroots song "Nashville Cats". If you do, then you know that there are 1352 Guitar pickers in Nashville. Southern Charm with a metropolitan Flare, that is the Nashville that we know. There is a lot more to do in Nashville, but you can explore that for yourself. |
