Review A Chicago Vacation

Chicago is the quintessential heart of America.  It is a classic city that sets the standard for all others. It’s a mix of immigrants from all over the globe, food from every culture and music that sings into the streets.  It has a vibe that is hip, busy and full of flavor that tourists and locales savor.  You can head to the beach and dip into the lake, put your head in the clouds at the Sears Tower Sky deck, ride your bicycle through parks with illustrious mazes of green, feel impressed by the massive collections of art at the Art Institute of Chicago, eat Polish sausage at an authentic Polish restaurant, dance salsa in the Latin quarter, relish in a traditional Chicago hot dog, appreciate the intricate and unique architecture, and window shop at the upscale boutiques.

Chicago is a city unlike any other. Major events take place in the parks and entertainment venues every night. You will find art festivals on Navy Pier with artists from all over the world. You will hear musicians playing beautiful jazz and blues in world-class performances. You will see thespians performing all over the city from big shows to small audiences. You can shop for antiques, art and food all over this Midwest treasure.

Dixie and I try to get to Chicago at least once every other year.  We love the museums as well as the shopping.  Such a diverse ethnic group or people that make up Chicago and it group has authentic restaurants and we love them all.  We love Klaus's in the Germany section and downtown, you have to try Ed Debevics, where the waitresses wear poodle skirts, smack gum and take you back to the 50's.  You can also get the World's Smallest Sundae.

Dixie and I will make the trip to Chicago offer and just go to the different museums and go to our favorite eating places.  We love the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry as well as going to the shopping downtown on the Miracle Mile.

The city knows how to treat its guests. Come experience everything for which this Midwest city became famous.
