Warm white sand beaches, crystal indigo seas, romantic Caribbean nights, world- class hotels, restaurants and nightlife, world-renowned fishing, diving and snorkeling, archeological sites dating back thousands of years, a balmy tropical climate and water sports galore. A resort where you could keep busy 24 hours a day just participating in the many activities and tours available, and yet it remains a tranquil retreat where you could relax to your hearts content. In Cancun you can literally choose a pace and lifestyle to suit any frame of mind, from ultra chic to funky laidback beach bum. Cancun is a resort for everybody, from college students on a strict budget to the rich and famous from all over the world. Cancun caters to all who visit and everyone should experience Cancun at least once. Everything just seems to flow together effortlessly in Cancun. This is one of the reasons that Cancun is Mexico's most popular resort, the other reason being... Location, Location, Location. I read some years ago that Cancun was build as a resort and vacation area for Americans, it that is the truth, then they have completed their task. Cancun has many faces and the world class resort hotels that line the Gulf of Mexico, the downtown shopping, the trips inland to visit the sites that date back thousands of years, year can see why I say that Cancun has 3 faces. When we have visited Cancun, we have always gone by air and stayed at one of the Resorts on the water. My wife can spend all day in the downtown area shopping and then when I can get her to take a break, we find a small cafe and have a delicious meal. You will find everything from Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds to Hard Rock Cafe. We have always preferred to eat at local cafe's. We find the food authentic and delicious and normally the prices are lower. I like good food and once on a trip, I found a guy on the side of a street, cooking a half of a chicken using a hub cap and oil and a butane torch to heat it with. You got the chicken, refried beans, and a 16 oz. Pepsi for $2.00. I bought it and it was excellent. So you see, I do eat native. I strongly recommend that you do spend some time taking some of the inland tours as the ruins are spectacular and well worth spending the time to visit them. The wild life inland is also worth looking at. See Iguana's, birds, parrots, and much more in the wild. Cancun is a destination that is worth the time you would invest in taking a look at what is available for your next vacation. Cancun, a place for Americans to relax or just have fun. |
