Review A Vacation Antigua |
|
|
|
It was our first visit to Antigua. If it is your first time there,
then you should take one of the tours. I would suggest you going
on Eli's tour. Everyone seems to and they are never disappointed.
Each tour is practically guaranteed to give you a different experience.
You will never know what you'll encounter. We also booked a tour
with Antigua Paddles, which is a 1/2 day trip and is also a must.
Eli's is all day, but not tiring at all. Doing both, we saw Bird
Island twice, but on different sides. St. James offers great
watersports, take advantage if you can, I did. As you know if you
have read my other reviews, I am a Master Diver and never miss a chance
to get wet. Here are a few places to check out if your going to be there for several days. Fig Tree Drive and
the Rain Forest Here are some Beaches to visit if you have the time. Rendezous Bay &
Doiggs Beach Here's is a little information on the resort that we stayed at. St. James is located on the far South East side of the island, so if you don't plan on renting a car, it can be costly using a taxi around the island. St. James is a family oriented resort. St. James consists of villas and there were a couple of nights of casual dress. Sunday is barefoot BBQ on the beach and Thursday is Caribbean night. The Casino was fairly small, but we had a good time. Just to let you know, Antigua is a deprived island, but I would go back again. There isn't much rainfall, so the island isn't covered in green, but it's a beautiful place to spend a week. You can always find a secluded beach. It's like having your own private island. \ Check out some of the other activities on line or if your going there on a cruise, I am sure that the few hours that you spend there will make your trip a more memorable one. |
