Known as “the magic city,” Miami is an extravagant mix of cultures, beauty and nightlife. You can partake of the Latin flair, stopping off at Calle Ocho for some traditional Cuban cuisine, then head to South Beach to soak up the rays. After a little sunbathing, you can mingle with the rich and glamorous at the many restaurants and nightclubs--South Beach is for those who desire to enjoy the high life. For those wishing to relax, Miami offers miles of picturesque beaches and outdoor shopping venues. Coconut Grove is one to visit-- outdoor boutiques with a tropical flavor. Miami is certainly full of many different ethnicities. According to the 2000 U.S. census, the city has a 60 percent Hispanic population, a 22.3 percent African-American population and an 11.9 percent White/other population. With this variation, you can find different ethnic foods, celebrations and cultures just by stepping outside your hotel. With an increasing reputation among celebrities for its party atmosphere, Miami has become a hotbed for commercial and urban real estate development. Star Island can be seen by car or boat and is home to various famous singers, actors and professional athletes. We go to Miami about every 3-6 months to take a cruise and then we head home. The GPS in our car has the Port on it so that we can get to it easier. With so many cruise lines calling Miami Home, we are constantly going to Miami to take a cruise to ...who knows where. With all it has to offer, Miami is truly a tropical paradise with an abundant nightlife. |
